Who are we?
A professional organization committed to helping teachers of Italian in New Jersey.
Italian Teachers Unite with AATI (American Association of Teachers of Italian) to form a new Chapter ITANJ.
Our Goals:
- PROMOTE the Italian language and culture
- MEET the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and the new NJ 100 Hour Professional Development Mandate by organizing workshops that deal with methodology, books and materials, technology and curriculum
- ARRANGE "Corsi di Aggiornamento"
- PROVIDE a quarterly newsletter that will keep teachers abreast of the latest events/programs in the tri-state area
- INFORM Italian teachers of any job offerings in the region
- RAISE funds for Student scholarships
- ORGANIZE student get-togethers for cultural and social awareness
- STRENGTHEN ties with Italian Educational Entities

"Amici della Cultura Italiana" groups enjoy many benefits as a result of being associated with the Coccia Foundation. Coccia Foundation recognizes the student members' commitment to the preservation of Italian culture and heritage in the United States by providing students with scholarship opportunities, matching funds for various initiatives and supporting study abroad programs. In addition, the Coccia Foundation provides financial support for cultural events including culinary and arts programs, Italian-themed field trips, and Italian festivals
