The
Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders was
first established in 1969, as the Department of Speech
Pathology and Audiology. From 1969 to the present, the
Department has developed and offered programs that
reflect growth, specialization, and commitment to
helping professionals and individuals with speech,
language, and hearing disorders. The Department's
programs are conducted to provide basic and
advanced professional preparation, with a strong
commitment to theoretical and research foundations of
clinical intervention.
The Master
of Arts degree in speech-language pathology is the entry
level requirement for professional certification and
licensure. The Department pursues standards of
excellence through accreditation by all relevant state
and federal accrediting agencies
