     Read Part (iv) of this chapter, "The attitudes to property of the
Graeco-Roman world, of Jesus, and of the Christian churches ,"
and the following section (NOT part v), "Why did early Christianity so
signally fall to produce any important change for the
better in Greco-Roman society?"

     Write 300 words, about 150 on de Ste Croix's view of the property
question in early Christianity, and about 150 on his view concerning
the failure of Christianity to improve life in ancient society.
