               ASSIGNMENT ON _BOOK OF MARGERY KEMPE_

     Here is what we will be responsible for in this book:

     Ch. 1-5, 11-14; 24; 35-36; 59; 79- end of Book I; and all of Book
II (short).

     Please read Ch. 1-5 and 11-14 for our first class.

     Write 200 words about what you think. Try to use your knowledge
of Middle English Literature and the society and ideology of the time
to do some analysis here. Need I say it? -- Look for familiar themes
and literary devices!
