       First Assignment on 'Sir Gawain and the Green Knight'

     Please read the first "Fit" of the poem. Reread it, looking for
elements that may have to do with Love, either virtuous or vicious.
Look out for: human relationships (male/female; overlord/vassal);
other hierarchical relationships (horse/rider; Reason - rational
behavior/ the Flesh - sinful/irrational behavior); Fortune; any other
elements of the feudal aristocratic world-view (a.k.a. traditional
Christianity of the Middle Ages) you can find. 

     Write 300 words discussing a few of these elements which you
think may be significant.
