Candidates for matriculation must achieve a B average or better in their undergraduate work and a score of not less than 500 the Verbal portion of their GRE. Most applicants will have majored in literature (English, comparative, or foreign) or a related field at the undergraduate level. However, students with strong academic credentials in any area may apply. Also required are a personal statement indicating professional and intellectual goals, and two letters of recommendation, ideally from professors who know your academic work well.
