Gabriel Rubin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Justice Studies. He teaches courses on terrorism and civil liberties, theories of justice, constitutional law, and research methods. Dr. Rubin’s research interests include the study of terrorism and its effect on democratic governance, immigration law, political psychology, and public opinion. In his dissertation, “Freedom and Order: How Democratic Governments Abridge Civil Liberties after Terrorist Attacks—and Why Sometimes they Don’t,” Rubin compares legislative reactions to terror attacks or campaigns in the United Kingdom, US, and Israel. He finds that how terror threats are shaped by government executives (Presidents or Prime Ministers) largely determines how nations legislatively respond to terror. Dr. Rubin has presented his research at numerous Political Science conferences. |
