GOT A MINOR?

Are you looking for ways to make

your degree more marketable?

If so, have you considered adding a minor?  Many students at MSU have up to 24 credits in free electives and may be able to fairly easily add a minor, which can help them gain a competitive edge.  We would like to invite you to consider a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies.  Recent census analyses reveal that Latinos account for 12 percent of New Jersey's population, making New Jersey the state with the 7th largest Latino population.  Moreover, by the year 2015, it is projected that they will exceed 17% of the state's population.  As such, potential employers and graduate schools look favorably upon graduates who have the unique academic background provided by a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies.  If you have taken six credits in Spanish or Portuguese or plan on taking one of these two languages, then you are eligible to declare this minor.  Please review the attached curriculum guide.

If you are interested in adding the minor or discussing this program further, please contact the program director – Dr. Milton A. Fuentes at: fuentesm@mail.montclair.edu or X7967.
