Requirements for the M.A.
in Applied Linguistics
In September, 1997, the requirements for the M.A. in Applied Linguistics
changed. Students matriculating in the Fall 1997 semester or later will be
subject to the new requirements. Students who had matriculated prior to
September, 1997, will ordinarily follow the old requirements. However,
students who have not yet completed the old requirements may have the
option to select the new requirements. Please consult the Graduate
Advisor for more information.
In addition to changes in the requirements, there were several number and
title changes. The LNGN prefix that was previously used for all Linguistics
courses has been superseded by the prefix APLN for graduate courses.
You should be familiar with the changes in course title and number to avoid
the danger of repeating a course inadvertently. See the "Changes" document
below for a list of the new and old titles and numbers.
