Montclair Linguistic Association

Welcome to the Montclair Linguistic Association (MLA) Web site. The MLA is an organization created for the purposes of meeting the needs of Linguistics students and those who are interested in Linguistics. Through the organization of various social and academic activities, we hope to provide all Linguistics students and others interested in Linguistics with social and academic opportunities to meet, exchange ideas, and express common concerns.

To better acquaint yourself with the structure of our organization and its goals we invite you to read our Constitution and our Statement of Activities. If you are not a member and are interested in becoming one, please fill out our Membership Application form which you may print out and hand in to any Linguistics professor (link to professors from the Linguistics home page).

The MLA has its own newsletter, which is published periodically, as the need arises, during the semester. In it you will find articles concerning things such as upcoming events in the Linguistics Department, reports on faculty research, student interests, social gatherings and even some entertaining fun articles related to the idiosyncrasies of language. Please contact our Secretary, Iris Nina at ninai@alpha.montclair.edu if you would like to contribute an article to the newsletter.
