Summer Internships for Students in Linguistics and
Related Disciplines
There are several competitive
internship programs for graduate and undergraduate linguistics students, particularly
for students interested in cognitive science and computational linguistics.
Many of the internships are funded by the National Science Foundation’s Research
Experiences for Undergraduates program. Internships typically offer a
stipend. Some offer living arrangements as well. They all offer wonderful
experience in being a practicing linguist.
Montclair State Linguistics sent two students to internships last year: Ying Chen
(MA candidate) went to Johns Hopkins, and Fanny Velandia
