COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES

1. Two exams, counting about 40% of final grade.
2. Short bi-weekly papers, about 40% of final grade.
3. Periodic quizzes, worth 20% of final grade. Absolutely
       no make-up of quizzes!
4. Class participation will improve final grade.
5. Make-up exams will be at the discretion of the
   instructor, and may be taken ONLY on the last day of
   class. Late handing in of work may result in student
   receiving a penalty.
6. No formal attendance requirement, but students
   are responsible for material discussed and instructions
   given in class, for taking quizzes and exams when
   scheduled, and for handing in work on time.
7. To receive a passing grade for the course, students must
   hand in all assignments and must take both exams, unless
   other arrangements have been made with the instructor.
8. Absolutely no food is to be eaten in class unless required by
   appropriate medical documentation.
9. Turn off all cell phones, pagers, etc., before coming
   into class.
10.Getting up or leaving during the class period is both
   rude and distracting.  If you think you might have to
   leave in the middle of class, please sit by the door.
11.Talking or whispering with fellow-students during class
   is rude and distracting.
12.Cheating on exams or plagiarizing on papers will result
   in an automatic "F" for the course.
