SYLLABUS [tentative]

SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

This course introduces students to the study of the interactions among independent state and non-state actors in the contemporary world. It will examine theories of international relations, the nature of the state system, international organizations, international security, trade and economic development, and human rights. Students should leave the course with a better understanding of the contemporary world system and its significance.

Stephen Ryan, The United Nations and International Politics, latest
           paper edition.

    These books are available in the university bookstore and should be purchased immediately.
