• Fulbright Visiting Fellow at the University of Brasilia,
• Visiting assistant professor at Manhattanville College and visiting Lecturer at Tufts University.
• His research has focused on the politics of economic reforms, democratization and security.
• Recent articles have appeared in Latin American Politics and Society,Latin American Research Review, Dados, and the Handbook of latin American Studies. He is also co-editor of Reforming Brazil (Lexington Books, 2004).
• Current research includes comparative study of policy-making in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
