| I arrived at Valle Grande [prison, in the province of Camagüey] on the 8th of July. I was put in a punishment cell for telling the others the details of the world of prisons. I was beaten by the guards. That is why, on the 26th of July, I yelled various slogans against the Castro regime. They took me out of the cell in handcuffs behind my back, they threw me to the ground head first, which opened two gashes in my head. When I was on the ground, they kicked me and beat me with a hose. A total of nine guards participated in the beating. They all were under the orders of Mayor Troy, chief of Internal Order at Valle Grande. I fainted, and stayed on the floor of the cell for several hours. Later, they denied me medical attention. Next day they took me out of the cell and took me to an office of the National Revolutionary Police where I was indicted twice. This happened without they even taking me out of the prison truck. Then, they transferred me to Combinado del Este [a prison in Havana]. Now I am incommunicado in Area 47 (known as Los Condados), the special area for those who are punished, November 1, 2000 |
