GENESIS PROJECT

Choose an original theme, image, or figure from your readings of Galeano's GENESIS.
Using this conceptual "thread," your discussion must weave together 3 different passages from our text.
(For instance, in class I discussed the example of "book burning," and I explored 3 passages in which book burning appeared.)

Write an essay in which you discuss these 3 passages.

In your intro, simply introduce your topic (no more than a few sentences).
Then "dig into" the passages you've chosen.
Your topic brings these 3 passages together, but try not to be redudant! Each passage offers new details to consider and explore.

Incorporate direct quotations of small moments of rich language taken from these passages, moments that touched your imagination.
Respond to these moments with insight. Explore how the theme, image, or figure is represented by the text.

Length: 1,300 words (or about 2 1/2 pages, single-spaced, font = Times, 12)
Typed and stapled.

Research is optional. Give a biliographic citation if you borrow words or ideas from an outside source.
