Vicky will not get the endorsement of the Policemen's Benevolent Association, which is crucial in most elections. Blight. Define "blight." Do you mean graffiti, litter, and code violations, or do you mean forcing legitimate, albeit unpopular, businesses like go-go bars and tattoo parlors out of the Third Ward. If you mean the former, you guys had your chance years ago. Art Sholty was code enforcer at that time, and did whatever he legally could to find illegal dumping sites, zoning and building violations, as well as other code violations. However, your former councilman, Gary Iacobacci, made Sholty's friendship with Mayor Norton a campaign issue, and inflamed his constituents to believe Sholty was issuing violations to Norton's political enemies. What didn't help was Mayor Bukowski's term as judge, who let violators go with a slap on the wrist. This led to animosity between Bukowski and Galioto. It turned almost to the point where Sholty couldn't do his job any longer. He finally retired. I oppose any attempt to remove businesses from the Third Ward just because they offend a councilperson's moral tastes. Vicky has been complaining about adult establishments for years, just as she complained about sex education in the schools. Let her try to begin to force go-go bars and tattoo parlors from the ward, and watch the ACLU jump on Bloomfield like flies on honey. As an apparent Vicky supporter, let me ask you this. Why was she hired as secretary to the C of C when she had a perfectly good COUNTY job? Was this Marion's idea so it wouldn't look like Vicky was making her money from political patronage? Also, I don't believe a person who doesn't pay her taxes should be working in the C of C. It sets a bad example. The timing of Vicky's appointment to the C of C so close to the election is either a rather improbable coincidence, or political maneuvering to get her the positive publicity she needs. Have you passed her campaign headquarters? Do you EVER see anyone in there. I did, once. Last Tuesday, Vicky and her kids were in there decorating. But that's it. Campaign offices are usually busy places. About Maureen. Do I believe her appointment to the council was the greatest decision? No, but it was the best at the time. In calculating who would do the least damage to the Third Ward, Maureen is the only choice for November. It may not necessarily be the IDEAL choice, but given the alternative, it's the only one. In politics, sometimes you have to be happy with half a loaf of bread if you can't get the whole thing.

Right there at the bottom of her letter where it says "paid for by". That woman is the secretary to the Board of Education Business Administrator. Is it a conflict of interest to have a woman who technically works for Mr. Bt be the Treasurer of Mrs. Bt's campaign? I wonder if she got an extra big raise this year at the Board of Ed. There should be absolutely no campaign work being done from the board of ed office! Talk about your conflicts of interest. This crew continuously amazes me! But then again, I'm still trying to figure out how someone who doesn't pay taxes (at least does not pay ON TIME) has the gall to go after a job paid for by the rest of our taxes, and how the taxPAYERS were stupid enough to put him in charge of $50million of our money!
