Trouble is, when people try to do something positive for the town,
all they get is bashed. Look at the way Iacobacci and his campaign
manager, Towanda Underdue, tried to destroy the Harvest Fest a few
years ago. Who would want to volunteer under those circumstances?

former fire director? Isn't he the one that was double dipping? Did
the Harvest Fest ever turn a profit, or is it still losing tax dollars

In the fun of the Harvest Fest, no one realizes it is costing the
taxpayers. In the private sector, if something doesn't make money in a
couple years, the practice is stopped. A salesperson who doesn't make
money is fired. Since the Harvest Fest doesn't make money and worst
yet, costs the town money, it should be stopped. But most people in
Bloomfield will want to lose big bucks just to have a couple of days
of fun.

Harvest Fest brings our townspeople (those who choose to allow
themselves to enjoy themselves!) together for a couple of afternoons
of fun and socializing. It's one of the few things people outside of
our town see as "something nice" about Bloomfield. Maybe
even it's attracted new residents. As above said, most forms of
entertainment cost money.

And that "costly" event, so criticized by the politically
motivated in this and EVERY other thread, is a hot spot for THEM to
pump hands! They just LOVE to be seen - knock it, mind you - but LOVE
to be seen there!

are critics and most are the first there to campaign, campaign and
campaign!

If you want a day of fun, then advertise it as such. Don't
advertise the Harvest Fest as a profit making scheme and the town will
be paid back if it never will. That's called fraud like everything
else Norton, Kane, and Skinner tried to dream up. If the Harvest Fest
doesn't do what it was intended to do then either stop it totally or
stop misrepresenting it by advertising it as a money making venture.
If it's just a day of fun, fine, then advertise it as that and tell
the taxpayers they are paying for it with no expectations of it being
paid back. Be upfront with the taxpayers. Something the Norton Gang
just couldn't be.

by EVERY BODY! You were in the "tax foreclosure notices of the
Independent Press" that week for NONPAYMENT of property taxes.

The Harvest Fest was to pay the Bloomfield Taxpayers back for any
proceeds like Police protection, DPW, or other costs. The Harvest Fest
has yet to return any money to the town while their debt gets larger
and larger every year. It's not a town event, so let the Harvest Fest
Committee pay the taxpayers back or don't allow them the permits to
hold it again until their debts are paid back to the taxpayers. Is/was
the Harvest Fest another scam for Norton, Kane, Skinner, and the ever
present, but quickly absent "take the money and run" Mr. and
Mrs. Double Dipper?

There's an old saying....When the fish stinks, it starts at the
head.
In the case of the Council and BOE, we are just getting a whiff of
what we've been electing. How about we start voting with our brains
instead of our emotions next time out. All they do is create a hot
topic, rile the public and waltz in. Once in, they ignore the real
reason they are there.
So it boils down to us. We the people. Don't we deserve better? To
coin a present candidate....We can do it better!
